Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that filter recycling
might be a brand new concept to you and your business.
For that reason, we've compiled a list of our most frequently asked questions for your convenience. Please contact us if you have any additional questions.
Is a brand new filter better than a recycled one?
No. Technologically, a recycled filter is superior because it is returned with a higher starting efficiency due to the pre-coat. For powder
coaters, this is truly a savings on time, labor and product to pre-coat
the filters themselves.
Can a recycled filter become contaminated or cross-contaminated
and therefore contaminate my system?
No. Contamination or cross-contamination doesn’t occur within the Filta-Tec process. Each client’s filters are handled individually
inside Filta-Tec’s clean room. Measures are taken to assure that all
by-product is removed from the clean room prior to the next set of
filters being cleaned.
Does a recycled filter cost the same or more than a brand new filter?
No. A recycled filter is about half the cost of a brand new one. You save even more since Filta-Tec provides a tax-free service. Companies will also experience a reduction in their waste disposal costs.
Are freight costs higher to recycle a filter than a brand new filter?
No. Companies see no additional freight costs. Just as with a brand new filter, there are inbound freight charges. As part of our recycling service, Filta-Tec pays for the return shipment.
Does a recycled filter require more labor, time and cost to handle than just throwing the
filters away?
No. No additional labor or time is required. Instead of taking the filters out and putting them in a dumpster, you now put the filters on a pallet for shipment to be recycled. Companies constantly
improve their operations by modifying their actions which in turn strengthens their bottom line.
If we use a recycled filter in place of an OEM filter, will that “void the warranty” on my equipment?
No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and general principles of the Federal Trade Commission Act, you are not required to use the OEM filter or any other article unless the manufacturer provides
the item free of charge under the terms of the warranty.
